Solavei setup Android ZTE v768 Concord’s APN for MMS & Internet

#PhoneItAll with Solavei and Root It All! T-Mobile ZTE v768 Concord Phone Unlocked RootedIf you brought your unlocked T-Mobile ZTE v768 Concord Phone to Solavei (BYOP), you will need to change the Internet and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) settings in your phone. This will allow you to send pictures and texts greater than 160 characters.

These settings are called APN (Access Point Name) settings. Changing the APN settings will setup your phone to find and use the Solavei network.

Manual Setup of Solavei APN

The ZTE v768 Concord runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. To manually enter your APN on Gingerbread, start at your Home desktop and click the Menu Button and go to:

Settings > Wireless & network settings > Mobile network settings > APNs

While in APNs, click the Menu Button again and select New APN.

You will now find yourself in Edit access point.

Enter these values:

Automated APN setup using Tweakker

I also experimented with using the app Tweakker APN INTERNET MMS by Tweakker to configure the Solavei APN. Tweakker APN INTERNET MMS is an APN manager tool that helps you set up your APN settings for Internet and MMS connection.

Tweakker App

I downloaded this, and just picked Solavei as my operator. Tweakker produced an APN with the following values;

What is MMS and SMS?

SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) are the two methods your phone sends text messages.

SMS is the text communication service component of a phone or mobile communication system, using standardized communications protocols that allow the exchange of short text messages between fixed line or mobile phone devices.

MMS is a standard way to send messages that include multimedia content to and from mobile phones.

A standard SMS is usually 160 characters in length and can be sent from any regular mobile phone. A standard MMS does not have a specific character limit. One can send music, animation and other interactive media with a MMS from a mobile phone that is capable of receiving and sending multimedia messages.
